Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Why supporting traineeships benefits your staff

Offering traineeships can be a powerful incentive for attracting and retaining quality staff. Pharmacy employees are more likely to engage, perform, and stay when they see a clear path to developing their skills and progressing in their careers.

Here’s why traineeships appeal to pharmacy staff:

  • Fee-free qualifications make it easy for staff to upskill without financial stress

  • On-the-job training allows them to learn while working in real pharmacy environments

  • Nationally recognised credentials provide long-term value and career opportunities

  • Access to financial support, such as up to $5,000 through the Australian Apprentice Training Support Payment (AATSP), increases engagement

  • Boosts confidence and capability in key areas like customer service, dispensing, and product knowledge

By supporting staff through a traineeship, pharmacies can build a more capable, loyal, and future-ready team, while giving employees a genuine reason to grow with the business.

Who should consider traineeships?

Businesses looking to:

  • Fill skill gaps and strengthen their workforce

  • Support new or existing employees with career development
