Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements listed in the training package for this qualification. It is preferred that the students have obtained a minimum of a School Certificate or equivalent. Students are required to be at least 16 years of age (students under 18 years of age will need a parent or guardian to approve their enrolment).

Students will also be required to provide their Unique Student Identifier ((USI) which we can assist with), photo identification and meet the language, literacy and numeracy requirements.

Work Placement Requirements

Students will be required to undertake a minimum of 120 work or placement hours within an Approved Service, which will allow you to complete and document a range of applicable work tasks. If students are not currently employed by a suitable facility, students are encouraged to locate their own work placement. We may be able to assist you if you have any difficulties.

Training Delivery

This course can be conducted online, blended, work-based or in the classroom. Training is delivered through our Registered Training Organisation: Alpine Training Pty Ltd RTO ID 41511.

Course Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a: Nationally recognised Certificate & Transcript or Statement of Attainment (if found competent in at least 1 Unit of Competency).

To successfully complete this qualification, you require 13 units of competency. These 13 units are comprised of 7 core units and 6 elective units. The units of competency shown below have been selected by Alpine Education based on the course purpose.

  • CHCCCS011 Meet personal support needs
  • CHCAGE005 Provide support to people living with dementia
  • CHCDIS007 Facilitate the empowerment of people with disability
  • CHCPAL001 Deliver care services using a palliative approach
  • CHCAGE001 Facilitate the empowerment of older people

* Please note that this qualification has been superseded as 22 November 2022, students will be required to complete this qualification by 22 November 2023. If you do not feel that you will be able to complete the qualification within this timeframe, please contact us directly to discuss your options.
